We took our new EV on a long(ish) run to Tamworth for a weekend. Squeak (our EV, partnered with Bubble, our Landcruiser) happily made it to Marty and Traci's with electricity to spare, and she enjoyed the open roads. She is a very comfortable drive, it has to be said. We spent the few days on the farm, playing with the newly born puppies and cooing over the young calves. The puppies' mum, Keeley jones, was unfortunately unable to feed them, being on antibiotics for a blood infections after a dog fight, so they had to feed themselves from a few bowls, which turned into foot baths too.
Traci created a delicious menu of wintery stews, enormous breakfasts and hearty lunches, which fuelled us up for sitting by the fire or chainsawing some fallen timber off fence lines.
Our return journey required a quick top up of electricity. Unfortunately the charger in Scone was offline, so we ventured a little off the beaten track to Hollydene Winery to use their charging station, sample a few wines, have a light lunch overlooking the valley while waiting for the car to reach 100%. An additional stopover at Tamburlaine, with a very close kangaroo encounter en route, gave us time to taste some of their new releases, snack on a delicious cheese board, talk wine with Austin and end up filling the boot with some of their tasty wines.
An easy drive home, with a glorious sunset to send us on our way, ended the wonderful weekend.
